Rad Rays

I'm a sixth grader at Cordell Elementary. I chose my project because I wanted to know more about solar radiation and temperature after studying it in my science class.

To complete my project, I got solar radiation and temperature information off the Mesonet for two days at three sites. I compared the readings to see if I could find any relationship between solar radiation and temperature. I charted the information and looked for patterns. I found no noticeable patterns with the solar radiation and temperature, other than the temperature lags a little behind the solar radiation. I think this is because light travels faster than heat. On some days, the solar radiation and temperature did have things in common, but never at all three stations.

I learned a lot about comparing things to find differences. I don't think that I would want to do another Mesonet project. It is really stressful for me to get my projects finished and well done, especially when I have so many other activities and school things this time of the year. I would like to thank Mrs. Johnson because she helped me a lot.
